X-Series Password Reset Instructions

Due to the enhanced security features of X-Series devices, a master password reset is not enabled by default.

During the initial setup of an X-Series NVR or IP camera, users are provided with several password recovery options, including:

• Setting up security questions
• Generating a Recovery Certificate File – Export the recovery certificate to a USB flash drive and store it in a secure location. This certificate can be used to recover or reset the device password in the future if access to the system is lost.

If one of these recovery methods was configured during setup, the password can typically be recovered using the selected option.

If none of these recovery methods were enabled, the only available solution is to perform a factory default reset of the device. This will restore the unit to its original settings and require it to be configured again from the beginning.
