The Object Detection function on X-Series devices is designed to identify objects such as baggage, purses, or potentially dangerous materials left or lost within a pre-defined region. Utilizing advanced video analytics, the system monitors the designated area for objects that remain stationary beyond a specified duration. When such an object is detected, the system triggers an alarm, enabling a series of customizable actions, such as sending notifications to personnel or activating security protocols, to ensure safety and prompt response in environments like airports, public spaces, or critical infrastructure.
Step 1: Access the Device
- Log in to your X-Series device using your credentials.
Step 2: Navigate to the Object Detection Settings
- Go to Main Menu > Setup > AI > Setup > Object Detection tab.
Step 3: Configure Object Detection Settings
Adjust the following options to meet your requirements:
- Channel: Select the camera channel to configure for Object Detection .
- Enable: Toggle this option to activate the Object Detection feature for the selected channel.
- Sensitivity: Adjust the sensitivity level for detecting objects. Higher values increase sensitivity, while lower values reduce false triggers.
- Rule Number: Select the rule to configure (up to 4 rules can be set per channel).
- Rule Enable: Toggle to activate the selected rule.
Rule Type: There are three types of rules you can setup.
Lost: Detects items that are left behind or abandoned in the area of interest, such as unattended baggage or packages.
Legacy: Identifies items that have been removed from the area of interest, such as objects taken from a designated location.
Both: Enables simultaneous detection of both lost and removed items, providing comprehensive monitoring for added security.
Step 4: Save Settings
- Click Save to apply all configured settings.
Scheduling Object Detection on X-Series Devices
To ensure the Object Detection feature on your X-Series device is active during specific times, you next need to configure a schedule for when the AI feature operates. Follow these steps to set up the schedule for Object Detection.
Step 6: Configure the Object Detection Schedule
- Navigate to Main Menu > Setup > AI > Setup > Schedule.
- Select the Channel you want to schedule Object Detection for.
- Click the Enable option to activate scheduling for the selected channel.
- From the list of available AI features, select Object Detection.
- In the schedule interface, click and drag to draw a box around the days of the week and hours of the day when you want the Object Detection feature to be active.
- (Optional) Use the Copy option to apply the same schedule to other channels, if desired, or configure each channel individually.
- Click Save to confirm the schedule settings.
Configuring Triggered Actions for Object Detection on X-Series Devices
To enhance the functionality of Object Detection on your X-Series device, you can configure specific actions to trigger when a Object Detection event is detected. This step is optional but allows for customized responses such as notifications, recordings, or alerts. Below are the steps to set up triggered actions.
Step 7: Configure Triggered Actions (Optional)
- Navigate to Main Menu > Alarm > AI > Object Detection.
- Set up the desired actions to trigger when a object detection event is detected:
- Channel: Select the camera channel to apply the alarm settings to.
- Buzzer: Enable to make the XVR/NVR emit a beep when a Object Detection is detected.
- Latch Time: Specify the duration (in seconds) for the buzzer to sound after detection.
- Post Recording: Set the duration (in seconds) for the device to continue recording after the Object Detection event ends.
- Send Email: Enable to send an email notification when a Object Detection occurs (requires email configuration in Network Settings).
- Show Message: Enable to display an on-screen message when a Object Detection is detected.
- Full Screen: Enable to display the camera feed in full-screen mode upon detection.
