Configuring Full Color Mode and White Light Settings on X-Series Cameras
Most X-Series cameras with full color capability are configured to Full Color Mode by default. In this mode, the camera’s built-in white light activates at night to provide sufficient illumination for capturing color footage within the camera’s field of view. If the area has adequate ambient lighting, you can keep Full Color Mode enabled and disable the white light. Alternatively, if ambient lighting is insufficient, you can switch to Day/Night Mode, which uses infrared for nighttime recording. Below are the instructions for both options.
Option 1: Switching to Day/Night Mode
To change from Full Color Mode to standard Day/Night Mode (using infrared for low-light conditions):
- Navigate to Main Menu > Setup > Channel > Image Control > Image Settings.
- Change the Image Setting from Full Color Mode to Day/Night Mode.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
Option 2: Disabling the White Light
To maintain Full Color Mode but disable the white light in areas with sufficient ambient lighting:
- Navigate to Main Menu > Setup > Channel > Image Control > White Light.
- Set the White Light option to OFF.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
